This year, the medical school has kindly dedicated time within the Lab Medicine Course to allow an introduction to surgical skills in the first clinical year. We aim to prepare students so they are prepared with the basics when they hit their surgical rotations so they are better able to participate in theatre.

This year we are piloting a new DRE examination skills session as a sign up limited to 18 per block. Please use the links below for your group. The sessions will run a number of stations with different perianal and prostatic pathologies, with students taking a 'score card' to record their findings. Once the round is complete, we will review the pathologies, award prizes, and collect feedback to develop future sessions in the pilot.
